Webflow's annual conference took place on Thursday, October 5, in San Francisco.
Numerous Watch Parties were organized around the globe to participate in the live event and share the experience with the Webflow community. After attending the one in Paris, we're now reviewing the announced new features!
1. 3D Integration
The conference kicked off with a bang by unveiling Spline's integration with Webflow. Spline is a 3D scene editing and creation tool. It was already possible to export projects to Webflow.
However, it's now possible to add interactions directly within Webflow! For example, you can make your model move as a user scrolls, or change a scene's brightness based on mouse position.
This integration opens the door to even more modern and sophisticated websites.

2. Localization for Multilingual Websites
Webflow is renowned for creating SEO-friendly websites optimized for search engines. To further support this, Localization is now available !
Localization enables the creation of multilingual websites by generating translated pages. This means you can quickly create an English version of your French site, all while being optimized for SEO.
This tool also offers AI-powered automatic translation, even for items within a CMS collection.
3. Variables
Variables are a new way to boost efficiency in Webflow. Similar to “Color Swatches”, variables allow you to define a size, color, shape, attribute… of your choice and reuse it more easily!
This option makes it easier to harmonize your classes by using a single variable for all dependent elements. This way, if you later decide in your project that your cards aren't rounded enough, you just need to modify the value of the 'rounded' variable.

4. Custom CSS Attributes
It was previously necessary to add an HTML Embed to add CSS styles and classes. This feature is now easier to access because a dedicated panel has been added. So, improve your organization and structure by avoiding cluttering your DOM with additional Embeds.
5. Component Improvements
Components have become more flexible. It was often necessary to unlink an instance from its component to modify it without altering the parent element. All modifiable attributes are now displayed and listed in a more user-friendly way.
Furthermore, it's also possible to add placeholders that can contain any element! So you have the choice to add a list, a button, an image... to your Footer component!

6. New Webflow Apps
The Webflow development ecosystem has expanded thanks to new data accessible via its API. This has led to the emergence of new extensions like Slater, an assistant for custom code, or Unsplash, a go-to for finding images of high quality and royalty-free.
Furthermore, connections with more standard development methods, such as React, have also been improved, by simplifying information exchange. Elements coded in Visual Studio Code (or your preferred IDE) can now be easily integrated into your Webflow site and can also communicate with its CMS.
7. Improved Figma to Webflow Plugin
Because Webflow is primarily for designers who want to create a unique experience, Figma is an essential tool. The Figma to Webflow plugin allows you to integrate designs directly with a single click.
The plugin evolves with Webflow and now offers the ability to use the same variables as Webflow. This means you can change the color of your headings directly in Figma if your two software programs are synchronized.

Conclusion
This year's conference once again brings us exciting new features that will allow us to offer increasingly complex and sophisticated no-code websites.
Webflow aims to secure its position as a leader as a modern CMS that helps designers bring their wildest creations to life, without technical constraints.
